Ultrex^™ Waterproof Breathable Fabrics

Ultrex fabrics are coated fabrics with a nylon face. They are a waterproof, windproof and breathable fabric similar to Gore-Tex^® nylon. Instead of a fabric layer, Ultrex has a urethane micro-porous coating to produce a lightweight shell fabric that is surpassingly soft and quit. These micro-pores are so small the rain and wind do not pass through, yet large enough to permit perspiration vapor molecules to escape and still retain much of the body's warmth. These are two-ply fabrics and should be lined to protect the breathable membrane. Lining protects the film from abrasion and reduces binding with undergarments.
