Bivy Sack Kits and Patterns

A "Bivouac" sack, bivi, or bivy sack is a great substitute for a tent where you're really want to cut down on weight, AND you don't mind the tighter quarters of a bivy sack.  Think of this as a super-light personal shelter that protects you and your sleeping bag from snow, rain, wind and insects.  The extra trapped layer of air also increases the warmth retention of your bag as well. This pattern is a straightforward design, is simple and compact, and requires no poles or stakes to use.  There's a Velcro sealed hood with a removable mosquito netting insert, a tie-loop to pull it away from your face, and plenty of room for protecting your boots, clothing and other gear.  It's approximately 110" long and 36" wide at the top, tapering to 32" wide at the foot.

You can order the parts separately of choose one of the kits below.  The kits include everything you need (including the seal sealer)  except for the thread.  You'll want a good polyester thread.
