Polyester fabrics hold up to sun and heat much better than nylon fabrics and are a natural for outdoor structures, tarps, work aprons and covers that'll be left in the sun for extended periods. All fabrics, whether polyester or nylon should be treated periodically with a UV protectant to extend their useful lifetimes.
